I believe that change is possible.

Meet Lauren

Hi! My name is Lauren Blumer (she/her) and I am a collaborative and client-centered therapist based in San Francisco, CA. I am passionate about the work I do and believe that therapy can be a powerful tool for change.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is humanistic, trauma-informed, and client-centered, largely emphasizing the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I believe that the single most important factor in therapeutic success is the strength of the therapeutic relationship and I strive to create a strong, trusting connection with my clients.

I also focus my approach on being individualized based on your needs, goals, and personality. What this means is that if you’re needing to strategize and take action, we can work on that. If you need support and someone to listen, we can do that too. I welcome and encourage feedback throughout the therapy process and am always ready to adjust or change direction if you are needing something different from therapy.

Finally, I am passionate about social justice and consider advocacy an essential part of my role, both in and out of session. I engage with clients through the lens that whatever troubles them does not exist in a vacuum, but rather developed in response to something beyond that individual, whether in their families, communities, or larger society.

Education and Qualifications

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT #126849). I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Saybrook University. I have been a practicing therapist since 2017 and have diverse experience working in private practice, mental health tech startup, community-based, and school-based settings.
