Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently in-network and accept the following insurance plans: Aetna, Optum, United Health Care, Oscar, Oxford.

If you do not have one of those insurance plans, I am able to provide you with a “superbill” which you can submit to your insurance. You may be able to receive some reimbursement directly from your insurance company depending on your out of network (OON) benefits from your specific plan and the OON deductible being met.

What is your fee and do you offer sliding scale?

My full fee is $160/session. As accessibility is very important to me, I do offer sliding scale and am happy to discuss sliding scale options if you are unable to pay my full fee at this time.

How long do sessions last and how often will we meet?

The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 50 minutes, though I occasionally offer up to 5 minutes after the 50 minute mark to allow us time to bring the session to a close. When beginning therapy, we will meet on a weekly basis. As therapy progresses and you find you are making progress, we can collaboratively discuss scheduling less frequent sessions.

Do you offer in-person or in-office therapy?

At this time, I offer therapy exclusively over a HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform and do not offer in-person therapy sessions.

Do you offer therapy for children or adolescents?

I currently offer therapy for individuals who are 16 years of age and older.

What happens during the consultation call?

During our 15 minute consultation call, we will meet over Zoom and discuss what is bringing you to therapy and determine if I am a good match for your therapy goals. Typically, we will discuss your goals, any previous therapy experience, my approach to therapy, scheduling and payment, and we will answer any questions that you have for me. If it seems like a good fit, we can schedule our first session together.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

I understand that life happens and you may need to cancel or reschedule our session time during our time working together. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask that you do so at least 24 hours prior to our scheduled session time. You will be charged a $75 cancellation fee if you cancel less than 24 hours before your session or “no show.” Please note: if you are unable to attend your session due to an emergency or serious illness and you are able to reschedule your appointment for later that week, I may waive the late cancellation fee as a courtesy.
